FIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY
Two lenses for less then ideal conditions. Filming events is challenging when environments and lighting are not the best. Shooting indoors at hotels, and conferences rooms are never ideal for video or photography so having the right gear matters.
Events you're constantly moving, so compact gear is essential.
In 2019, I was invited to follow fighter Jonathan Broad at Battlefield Fight League (BFL).
Jonnie is an up and coming martial artist from Vancouver so keep an eye on his fights.
Using two lenses and two cameras to document the pre-fight and post-fight in video and photo.
A fast shutter is best for fast action but when there's limited lighting in the room a fast shutter is not always possible.
Here I was using a slow shutter, high ISO, and flash.
An Ultra Wide lens like the 7-14mm is perfect for small areas like cramped rooms while the
35-100mm is perfect for getting close-ups.
Panasonic Lumix G Vario 7-14mm f/4 ASPH. Lens
Panasonic Lumix G X Vario 35-100mm f/2.8 II POWER O.I.S. Lens
This combination of lenses is the best for event and sports photography.
Jonnie's trainer is Blake Lirette a well known local martial artist.
