TELEPHOTO LENS

FOR STREET, TRAVEL, WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY!

The Panasonic Lumix Leica DG 100-400mm is one of my favorite lenses. I've used it for events, conferences, and for wildlife. It's equivalent to a 200-800mm and the range is really INSANE. The lens for every day street photography might seem like overkill but it's actually a perfect fit for taking around on a photo walk. In this video I photographed around False Creek in Vancouver, BC Canada.

Panasonic Leica DG 100-400mm f/4-6.3 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens

The 100-400mm lens has a variable f4-6 aperture and is marketed as SUPER Telephoto for ridiculous range.

This lens is popular for wildlife photography but it is great for all around street, and travel  photography.

This lens is built well and doesn't feel cheap.

There are switches for  Full or Infinity focus, AF, or MF and Power O.I.S.

There's also a tripod collar, and lens hood.

There also a Lock or Unlock ring for the zoom.

It's kind of like having the zoom range of a camcorder, but on a interchangeable lens camera body. This lens is a joy to use outdoors on-the-go for stills and video. Powerful range and stabilization.

Handheld at 400mm the stabilization works great but harder to handle, best used with a tripod.

The lens is big and weighty but is still compact with MFT bodies.

One issue with this lens is the zoom ring. It is definitely NOT made for video.

The ring is not smooth and takes effort to turn.

Overall, the Panasonic Lumix Leica 100-400mm is a ridiculous SUPER telephoto lens that's fun to use and has solid images.  It's not the smoothest zoom for video but it's worth the investment for the long range.
