The 42.5mm is a compact prime portrait lens with a bright f/1.7 aperture for shallow depth of field. F/1.7 aperture is a big help for low light situations. This lens has really nice separation of subject and background.
On location with the Lumix G 42.5mm. This lens is nice and sharp with a f/1.7 aperture for shallow depth of field. This lens is great for video, stills and PORTRAITS. At 42.5mm (85mm) this lens has nice compression for portrait photography.
Overall, the Lumix G 42.5mm is a solid portrait lens that is affordable, has fantastic quality, and a wide f/1.7 aperture. It's a very compact lens that is great to have in your Lumix kit.
